A class is made up of students whose objective is to acquire knowledge. Learning happens when the student gets new ideas and then applying them later. Every child in the classroom have their learning process, and that makes them unique from the other leaners. There are those students who have the visual learning style, this kind of students tend to learn through seeing or observing things. A teacher who has students using visual learning in their class need to use demonstrations like pictures, and also they play films on the screen which helps them delivery the lesson. a classroom may have students who use the auditory style of learning and these type of student like listen a lot. They can listen to spoken words, and sounds and they get destructed easily. Also we have the learner who uses tactile learning style, they tend to learn by touching, doing practically what they have been taught. A class consist of learners who learn through the three different learning styles, which makes it difficult for the teacher to teach. There are several techniques now that the teacher can use to accommodate all the learning style they have in the classroom, and some are explained in this article.
The moment a teacher is in a classroom they are the head of the classroom and should in control of the class. The real life is something that the children can easily associate with, and the teacher should use real-life situations to present the lesson. In a science class when learning about cleanliness, the teacher can use the real-life situation whereby the people wash their hand after visiting the washrooms. Also the teacher can link what he or she is teaching with the real life using specific everyday examples. For instance in a math class when teaching about time, the teacher can use the time student arrives at school to show time.
A teacher should know what the student think and prefer as per the lesson been taught and the teacher can do it by engaging the students. A teacher should ensure that when grouping the student in the various groups, the groups are well balanced as per the learning styles of the students. After grouping them the teacher gives them tasks to tackle together as a group. The task given about to the group should be a tuff one, and the group is expected to work together to complete the task, the teacher should assist whenever the group ask for assistance. The teacher can ensure the student is engaged by giving different homework to work on. The learning style of every student should be what the teacher uses to give the students assignment. Giving the student assignment on the topic which the teacher was teaching will make the student apply what they have learned.
